Sneaky Peek at SWBN Podcast #001
We’ve been promising this podcast for weeks, and as someone who hates hype I know how annoying that must be. Unfortunately it has taken me longer than planned to get the production elements together and mixed, and to work out our blog host.
The host site is up and running, but we are not on iTunes yet. So, in the meantime, I thought it was time to at least let you listen to the first podcast while I sort out the rest of the details.
The initial podcasts feature…well…US! So, you can learn a bit more about who we are and our backgrounds. In the future we’ll be covering topics and questions suggested by you, and interviewing people we hope will be of interest. Feel free to add comments of people you’d like to hear from, questions you’d like answered and topics you’d like covered.
And while you’re thinking about those, take a listen to our first podcast:
Hope you enjoy it, and please add all your thoughts and ideas below.
(and a HUGE thank you to Jon Iles for donating his dulcet tones to our podcast)

As an extra note, Allison mentions a charity website of hers called NetXperiment, but she has been having problems with her host this week, so don’t expect it to be as it should be if/when you visit. But please do try it again next week

Excellent podcast Ladies. I am so glad to hear that someone noticed how many women really want to join the online marketing world, but are at a loss as to where to go for understanding. Not that I have any problem with Ed,Dan, Bob and the gang, but they KNOW what they are doing, and I am one of those who came to 30DC with no knowledge of computer language. There is very little understanding or tolerance amongst mentors for the REAL beginners. At nearly 60, and female, that lack of tolerance and pleasantry for true beginners is hard to take.
I also do not want to be a millionaire through pushy sales pages, or sandwich my customers between a hundred hungry JV sales pages. I just want to get a couple of sites up to earn a reasonable living doing no harm. Since I have FELT the overwhelming rush of JV intrusions via my search for info, I am resolved not to choose that course my customers. Please understand, I feel no ill will against these JV’s, and many seem to have excellent programs for sale, none of which THIS beginner could afford, nor understand how to implement. I can’t even upload my Thesis theme to implement on my website. I have no basic computer skill/understanding. Surely there are more like me out there?
I look forward to learning from your program. My domain is six years old, put online by an ex-family member. I have reworked it into a wordpressdirect blog and think it should be quite profitable if I can learn to use it properly. Unfortunately, that has not happened as yet.

Thank you Lisa and Barb for a fun and informative broadcast but mostly for agreeing that I indeed …”am the smartest of the nice geek girls”.
On a rare serious note:
I happen to think SWBN rocks and I’m looking forward to learning from some wise and caring women.
Blessings and much success

Really enjoyed the podcast and getting to know you both better! It had a good blend of serious thoughts and laughs, a wonderful trait of the SWBN I think.
One question, what’s with the male commentator?…

Thanks for the responses to the podcast. We are now on iTunes too: http://twurl.nl/gttqgw
We went with the male commentator (Jon Iles) for a number of reasons:
(a) He was free – hey you gotta get what you can for nothing
(b) He is a professional and sounds great
(c) Having the male voice breaks up the female voices and gives some variety
(d) If we’d gone with a female voiceover it would have been me – and I think there’s already enough of me on the podcast

Salut Les Filles!
Well — FINALLY — I listened to the first podcast. What fun it was to hear you two have this relaxed conversation — women DO have a special way of dealing with “business” and I am really happy SWBN is now filling a void that I haven’t even noticed existed.
It’s true. It wasn’t before I received your very first newsletter, before the site was even up, that I realised how marvelous it was now going to be to do the internet marketing thing from a woman’s point of view. The writing, the tone, the energy… everything is totally different and sooooooo pleasing. Alleluia!
I’ll try catching up with the rest of the podcasts over the weekend. And hopefully, I’ll ease into learning more and participating in any way I can.
*** LONG LIVE SWBN ***
And thanks so much for creating it
