SWBN Podcast #002 – Barb Sabathil and Life after the Cubicle

6 December 2008 by Lisa 1,451 views 7 Comments

In the second SWBN podcast, I talk with the second member of the Secret Women’s Business Network triumvirate Barb Sabathil. Barb talks about life after the corporate world (and cubicle life), using social media to market her dad’s business as a traditional craftsman building harpsichords and clavichords, and how her greatest failure has resulted in a much better life.

I also talk about the Twitter Birthday Treasure Hunt and offer some ideas as to how you could implement a Twitter event for your own business, and the tools that we found useful and important.

Thanks, Corinne! That was our goal…to let you get to know us a bit better so you can see we’re just as crazy weird normal as you are. That way you know what you’re getting into by hanging out with us ;-)

Allison, I think I found a solution for your images not displaying in IE.
see the forum Headline & Working With Images
in your archive.php the code is still correct and klicking on a category shows images in IE

Joern had something to say about WordPress update with FileZilla 3.1.5.1 sub-folders missing

Thanks Joern but I licked it with a cut and paste from the original headline div. Mind you I sat for ages looking at the code and could not see what the issue was.

    It’s looking great now!

    Hi Barb, Lisa and Allison

Congratulations on your cooperative success in setting up the SWBN site.

It appears to be ready to rock and you three ladies are exactly the ones to make it roll out in just the right way.

I listened to most of your podcast interviews and I must say that you have done an impressive job.

Barb I must say that I am quite honored to have gotten to know you a bit during and after the 2006 TDC. As you know you ladies are putting together the very vision that we talked about then. Congratulations and I know that you will all do great.Enjoy the journey.

My only regret is that being a male I just dont have the proper assets to be part of your network. So I will cheer you on from the sidelines. Yaaaaaa ladies!!! Gooooo team!

Wishing you every success in future days, months and years with your new venture.

    Smiles :o )

Gary, my former “Introverted Synergistic Power Nappers” 2006 30DC teammate!

Thanks so much for your kind words. You’ve always been supportive of my endeavours, so it’s wonderful to have you stop by and cheer us gals on with our new venture.

If I could wave a magic wand and give you the “assets” to be an SWBN member, I would do it…but alas, my super powers are limited ;-) .

I hope you are well and that we’ll see you back here on the blog and on Twitter soon.

    Hugs and smiles,
    Barb
