SWBN Podcast #006: Ed Dale, Business Beginnings and the Thirty Day Challenge
Ed Dale has been a HUGE influence on the members of the Secret Women’s Business Network. In fact, without Ed Dale and the Thirty Day Challenge there may never have been an SWBN. So, imagine how excited we were when he agreed to be interviewed for the podcast.
Ed was incredibly generous with his time and spent nearly 2 hours talking with me, and it is absolutely impossible to edit it down because it was all such valuable stuff. So this is part one of what will be lovingly known as the “Ed Dale Meets the SWBN Mini-Series” podcasts.
In part one, Ed explains his business history (the good and the bad), what he learned from it and how it influenced the Thirty Day Challenge.
If you are new to online business or have an offline business that you want to promote online then we highly recommend you follow the Thirty Day Challenge before doing anything else. It will be the best money you NEVER spent (it’s absolutely free and better than most paid programs for beginners). All three of us do the challenge each year because even veterans can learn something new from it.
Ed recently created the Thirty Day Challenge Plus, the next step in building your online business, which offers skills to develop your business after you have finished the market research stage.
You can also follow Ed Dale on Twitter.
Next week, Ed talks about overcoming fears, running a business in the current economic environment and how he finds the time to juggle so many projects and still have time for his family.

Great podcast! Wonderful to hear the ups and downs of a “great one”, Ed Dale.
Agree that there is no loyalty in business anymore. So, it is true that there is “less-risk” in going into business for yourself, if well planned and researched.
Very realistic explanation of the emotions of what “failure” can do to each of us, and how important the “process” is.
Great voice on that Lisa too!

This is great! Thanks for sharing this with us. I love Ed and the 30 Day Challenge. I recommend it to everyone who has even a tiny bit of interest in possibly starting an online biz.
I am also a member of the 30 Day Challenge Plus and so far find it well worth the (amazingly small) cost.
Great job!

Thanks Lisa & Ed – really enjoyed listening to the podcast. Having been a follower of Ed’s for quite some time now and having had the opportunity to meet him in person, I had heard much of his background before, but he always adds some nuggets of information each time I hear him speak.
PS – Lisa, I don’t think I’ve ever ‘heard’ you so quiet

No, I’m NEVER that quiet usually. But Ed was too compelling in what he said to have any need for interjections.

Great job ladies!
You have a way of bringing out the real person in your interviews.
Maybe you should title your interviews as “Getting Real with…” Seeing the real side of internet marketers.
Can’t wait to hear the rest of the conversation.

I’m glad it’s coming across like that, Sheryl. We really wanted our interviews to show the “real” side of people and not be pitch-fests. Of course, we are not going to stop anyone speaking about their new projects, but we want to know more about them than what they are selling.

This is an amazing interview with Ed Dale! Great job SWBN for getting Ed Dale to share so much insight into how failure doesn’t have to mean the end of the road. So powerful.
Also, a big thanks to Ed for being so willing to step us through his experiences and what they taught him.
Great job Lisa and Ed! Thank you both.
