Are You Ready to “Up” Your Game
Tonight I’ve been catching up on some of the performances from yesterday’s Grammys (thank you YouTube – all the best bits, no fluff or acceptance speeches), and I was thinking about how some musical collaborations (often the ones you would never expect) really blow you away.
I remember when I used to play tennis and my teacher always encouraged us to play people who were better than us because it made you “up” your game.
Now, I know there are as many bad collaborations at the Grammys as there are good (I’m talking about you Jamie Foxx and T-Pain) but I think the same can be said for the good ones – a great collaboration enables the performers to reach new heights and sometimes surpass what they are (or believe themselves) capable of on their own.
And then with that in mind, tonight on Glee (give me a break, there’s just something addictive about it) Will says “That’s how you get better. Singing with people who are better than you.”
Today we launched the Secret Women’s Business Network forums. It’s something we’ve wanted to do ever since we started the SWBN, for a number of reasons. One of those reasons is that when you surround yourself with amazing people, when you mastermind with women who have all levels of experiences to share, when you find people to collaborate with in business, it can lead to incredible things.
We hope you will join us so we can all “up” our game and surpass the things we believe ourselves capable of.

A great reminder to find those who will help to lift us. Being surrounded by like-minded people is the first step.

Hi Lisa & Allison,
The forum sounds like a great idea. I will have to check it out. Having been studying this industry for the last 18 months I have noticed it can be very much a boys club. I would believe there are about 1/4 women to about 3/4 men doing this industry. The last seminar I went to was like that.
Hope all is going great.
